long exposure project

This was a really fun assignment to do. A bunch of photography classmates and I went on a hike at night to get the photos- hiking in the desert in complete darkness is not something I thought I would be doing for this class, but you gotta do what you gotta do. I learned a lot about how my camera works, and how to take long exposure photos. I especially love the shots of the city lights, and how all of the colors come together. Overall, I am happy with the results of this project. 🙂

project plans

For the long exposure project my class is doing, I plan to attempt as many types of long exposure photography as I can. I especially want to get ghost, silhouette, and light graffiti shots. This Friday, a bunch of students from the class and I are going to go on a hike to get some cool photos. I’m excited to see how it goes.

Day 2- Ghosting

For these photos, we experimented with different amounts of light and shutter speed. I like the blurry effect it leaves and want to mess with this more in the future.

messing with long exposure

Our photography class did a long exposure project. Before this, I didn’t know how to use long exposure, but now I can apply this to my photography in the future. My group had a lot of ideas, not of which went as planned, but we still got some cool shots. I learned more about how cameras function, and how to use them. It helped me figure out how different shutter speeds, apertures, and exposures affect photos. I like this first photo a lot, and want to try to take more like this with the shadows.
